Finance & Accounting Manager

About the role

AfroQuality is seeking a commercially‑minded Finance & Accounting Manager to build a scalable finance function that supports rapid growth across multiple African markets. The role reports directly to the Founder/CEO and is positioned as a stepping‑stone toward a future Head of Finance position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day finance and accounting operations across several countries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow reports.
• Manage working capital, treasury and inventory‑related finance.
• Coordinate tax, statutory compliance and annual audits.
• Improve finance systems, reporting and internal controls.
• Support fundraising, financial modelling and strategic business decisions.
• Identify and manage grants, concessionary and blended‑finance opportunities, including applications, budgeting and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• ACCA, CIMA, CPA or CA qualification (or finalist) preferred.
• 3–5 years of finance and accounting experience, ideally in retail, FMCG, logistics, technology or high‑growth SMEs.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analytical abilities.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with a passion for building systems in fast‑growing businesses.

Required skills

• ERP experience, preferably Odoo.
• Financial modelling.
• Budgeting and forecasting tools.
