Finance Specialist - Controllership

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Finance Specialist focused on Controllership to join its West Africa finance team. You will work on ensuring technical accounting compliance, strengthening internal controls, and delivering accurate financial reporting across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Drive technical accounting compliance and operational internal controls for all accounting cycles, including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, and inter‑company transactions.
• Interpret and apply Enterprise Standards, SOPs and Process Maps to provide globally competitive finance services.
• Advise functional managers on accounting approaches, processes and procedures.
• Lead medium‑sized projects and contribute to larger initiatives, delivering results within 3‑6 months and measurable impact up to 12 months.
• Own controllership initiatives, monitor key metrics, and ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, Baker Hughes policies and US GAAP.
• Collaborate with corporate functions to implement new accounting standards and strengthen internal controls.

Required profile

• Senior‑level finance professional with at least 7 years (84 months) of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting theories, methodologies and their practical application in an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to lead projects, communicate complex concepts and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Experience working with local statutory regulations and US GAAP.
