Fleet Dispatcher & Hiring & Training Manager (Scout)

About the role

Urban Cars ADL runs a fleet of 76 Toyota Vitz taxis across Accra and Tema. We are hiring two key members of our operations team: a Fleet Dispatcher who will coordinate trips from the control room, and a Hiring & Training Manager (Scout) who will recruit, onboard and retain drivers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all 76 vehicles in real‑time using dispatch software and GPS, assigning the nearest car to each request.
• Recruit drivers through job sites, social media, WhatsApp groups, lorry parks and fuel stations.
• Screen candidates, verify licences, insurance and voter ID, and complete lease agreements.
• Enter driver and vehicle data into the Opteum/Optic system.
• Train new drivers on the Yango driver app, safe‑driving practices, vehicle maintenance and interaction with authorities.
• Provide daily support to drivers during their first 14 days, track performance and conduct satisfaction surveys.
• Perform periodic field inspections of driving skills and vehicle condition.
• Prepare daily reports for the supervisor covering ads, registrations, training, driver turnover and candidate reserve.

Required profile

• Experience in recruitment, HR, fleet management or as a former driver; GPRTU background is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of Accra/Tema roads and driver culture.
• Fluent in Pidgin English; Twi or Ga is a strong advantage.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel independently across the city.
