Forklift Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Forklift Maintenance Technician to join our team in Accra. You will be responsible for keeping our fleet of forklifts operating safely and efficiently through routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturers’ schedules.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults using appropriate tools.
• Repair or replace components such as brakes, steering, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, batteries, and motors.
• Inspect forklifts for safety compliance and conduct performance tests after repairs.
• Service tires, chains, bearings and other moving parts.
• Record all maintenance activities and parts in logs or computerized systems.
• Manage spare‑part inventory and order replacements as needed.
• Maintain workshop tools and diagnostic equipment in good condition.
• Provide guidance to operators on daily inspections and basic preventive practices.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or vocational training in mechanical, automotive, heavy‑equipment or industrial maintenance.
• 2–5 years hands‑on experience maintaining forklifts or similar material‑handling equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently, follow HSE policies and respond to overtime or emergency call‑outs.
