General Ledger & Accounts Payable Lead

About the role

GBfoods Africa is seeking a General Ledger & Accounts Payable Lead to oversee financial recording, reporting and vendor payments for its operations in Ghana and Senegal. Reporting to the SBS Manager, the role ensures compliance with statutory and group requirements while supporting business performance across both markets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit annual financial statements in line with statutory and group standards.
• Compute and file monthly and annual corporate income tax and deferred tax.
• Manage transfer pricing documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with external auditors for customs, group and statutory audits.
• Lead balance‑sheet, profit & loss and trial‑balance reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll processing, HR provisions, pre‑payments, fixed‑asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Manage staff loan and advance schedules, ensuring timely reconciliation.
• Validate financial data from other business units and respond to management requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in financial reporting, tax compliance and accounts payable.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian and Senegalese tax regulations and transfer pricing.
• Proven ability to work with external auditors and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
