General Ledger & Accounts Payable Lead

About the role

The General Ledger & Accounts Payable Lead will oversee the accurate recording, reporting and reconciliation of financial transactions for GBfoods Africa’s operations in Ghana and Senegal. Reporting to the SBS Manager, this senior finance professional will ensure compliance with statutory and group requirements while supporting business performance across both markets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit annual financial statements in line with statutory and group standards.
• Perform monthly and annual corporate income tax, deferred tax calculations and filings.
• Manage transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors for customs, group and statutory audits.
• Lead balance‑sheet, profit & loss and trial‑balance reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll processing, HR‑related provisions and staff loan/advance schedules.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, depreciation schedules and pre‑payment postings.
• Consolidate and review financial packages for corporate reporting timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• Minimum 7 years progressive experience in general ledger, accounts payable and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian and Senegalese tax, transfer pricing and audit requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to work across two country units.
