General Manager – Civil Engineering (Ghana Expat)

About the role

Mowlem Group is seeking a commercially driven General Manager to lead major civil engineering programmes in Ghana on an expatriate assignment. You will provide strategic, operational and commercial leadership across multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and build relationships with government officials, international and local construction firms, and community leaders.
• Manage the tendering process, coordinate bid teams and liaise with corporate specialists.
• Deliver the business plan, meeting targets for sales, profit, revenue, cash flow and SHEQ performance.
• Provide leadership, motivation and development for multidisciplinary management and technical teams.
• Ensure a safe working environment that meets international operational standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior civil engineering leadership roles, preferably within large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive business performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with government, clients and industry partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing, multidisciplinary teams.
