General Services Officer

About the role

The General Services Officer will ensure that all company facilities provide a safe, secure and productive environment for staff and customers. This role combines facilities management, asset oversight, fleet coordination and vendor administration to support smooth business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure workplace, overseeing office infrastructure, amenities and compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.
• Keep an up‑to‑date asset register, manage tagging, tracking, lifecycle acquisition, maintenance and disposal of physical assets.
• Administer the pool of company vehicles, arrange alternative transport, and keep vehicle documentation and service records current.
• Source, evaluate and recommend suppliers, maintain a database of approved vendors and manage strong vendor relationships.
• Coordinate local and international travel logistics, including flights, accommodation and transport.
• Supervise service staff such as drivers, security personnel and janitorial teams, ensuring performance and accountability.
• Oversee courier services, corporate correspondence distribution and maintain accurate records of official documentation.
• Manage tenancy agreements, invoices for office spaces and ensure compliance with fire safety and other regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, procurement or general services.
• Strong planning, coordination and organisational abilities.
• Proven procurement and vendor‑management capability.
• Good knowledge of fleet and facilities management practices.
• Excellent negotiation and cost‑management skills.
• High level of record‑keeping and documentation discipline.
