Head of Business Development

About the role

The Multimedia House in Accra is looking for a Head of Business Development to provide strategic leadership for all commercial activities across radio, print and digital platforms. Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will drive revenue growth, shape business strategy and act as the commercial lead of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy and set revenue targets across all media channels.
• Lead the commercial success of the media house, overseeing income‑generating activities.
• Manage commercial teams and staff to achieve optimal results.
• Set commercial rates, commission structures and incentive schemes.
• Build and maintain relationships with major advertisers and advertising agencies.
• Coordinate with the programmes department to create commercially viable and sustainable programmes.
• Work with marketing and sales teams to secure sponsorships and spot advertising for all programmes.

Required profile

• Business degree from a recognised university; a professional marketing qualification is an advantage.
• Six to ten years of experience in a commercial media environment.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial orientation and ability to innovate revenue streams.
• Strong networking skills with key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of working through advertising agencies.
• Willingness to invest time and professional skills on a revenue‑sharing basis.
