Head of Operations

About the role

Fido is building the future of finance in Africa through AI, data science and automation. As Head of Operations you will own the efficient running of the business, define the target operating model and lead automation and AI initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve core operational functions including business operations analysis, IT support, systems administration and back‑office.
• Set the target operating model, translate it into automation and AI projects, and direct delivery teams.
• Partner with function owners to identify manual, error‑prone workflows and build technology‑enabled solutions.
• Package successful optimisations into repeatable playbooks and roll them out across markets.
• Ensure compliance with information security, business continuity, data protection and regulatory requirements.
• Manage technical service providers, contracts and vendor performance.
• Oversee operational readiness for product launches and contribute to product design.
• Own the operations budget and deliver measurable efficiency gains.
• Build, coach and lead a high‑performing operations team.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in process optimisation, systems and IT management, and digital transformation.
• Proven ability to design and implement efficient operating models in fast‑growing organisations.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and coaching high‑performing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to work across multiple functions.
