Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

The Health & Safety Specialist will lead daily occupational health and safety activities across our factory, ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations. You will act as the primary point of contact for safety inspections, training, and incident investigations, fostering a proactive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day HSE operations and ensure alignment with company standards.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification, and track corrective actions.
• Deliver Toolbox Talks, safety inductions, and ongoing training for new and existing employees.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near‑misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor proper use of PPE, inspect machinery, equipment, tools, and work areas for safety compliance.
• Develop and maintain HSE procedures, SOPs, emergency plans, and safe work practices.
• Organise fire drills, emergency response exercises, and evacuation drills.
• Support internal HSE audits, maintain safety records, and prepare regular HSE performance reports.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and HR teams to continuously improve safety culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, accident investigation, workplace inspections, safety training, and emergency response.
• Familiarity with PPE, Permit to Work, LOTO, fire safety, and safe work procedures.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and incident investigation skills.
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA are a plus.
