About the role
The HIV Technical Advisor provides technical guidance for the FHI 360 EpiC project across the three PEPFAR‑supported regions in Ghana. This senior position ensures successful implementation of the work plan and achievement of project targets.
Key responsibilities
- Lead development, implementation and oversight of community‑ and facility‑level HIV activities aligned with PEPFAR, Ghana Ministry of Health and FHI 360 requirements.
- Ensure high‑quality delivery of HIV treatment, viral load, Advanced HIV Disease (AHD), case detection, PrEP, PMTCT, Early Infant Diagnosis (EID), Multi‑Month Dispensing (MMD), Same Day ART Initiation (SDART) and differentiated service delivery.
- Provide clinical guidance, mentorship and technical assistance to project staff, health facilities, CSOs and government partners.
- Coordinate with GAC, NACP, regional and district health directorates to develop and operationalize implementation plans and strengthen partnerships.
- Represent FHI 360/EpiC at national and international meetings and ensure development of contextual SOPs, tools and guidelines.
- Strengthen community‑to‑facility referral systems, strategic information, M&E and reporting, and conduct data quality assessments.
- Support capacity assessments, transition planning and sustainable HIV programming for CSOs and government counterparts.
- Prepare technical, programmatic and donor reports, highlighting achievements, challenges and recommendations.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field (PhD or equivalent experience considered).
- At least 12 years of public‑health experience with substantial HIV work, including 8 years managing multi‑year international HIV programs and 3 years in a leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of Ghana’s health system and national HIV response, with experience working with USAID or PEPFAR‑funded programs.
- Proven ability to design, implement and provide technical assistance for large‑scale HIV programs.
- Excellent analytical, report‑writing and oral presentation skills in English.
