Instrumentation and Control Engineer

About the role

The Instrumentation and Control Engineer will join an industrial plant in Tema to design, implement and maintain control and instrumentation systems that ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Specify, configure and integrate instruments and control devices for process automation.
• Develop control logic, system architectures and automation platform integrations (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
• Support installation, testing, commissioning and performance verification of control systems.
• Monitor system performance, diagnose faults and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and process engineering teams to optimise plant operations.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, ensure compliance with safety, quality and industry standards.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance process stability and productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong foundation in control engineering and process control theory applied to industrial systems.
• Hands‑on experience with instrumentation selection, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Familiarity with industrial sectors such as manufacturing, mining, oil & gas or utilities is an advantage.

Required skills

• Control systems design and architecture development.
• Programming and configuration of PLCs, DCS and SCADA platforms.
• Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Interpretation of P&IDs, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
• Electrical engineering principles for instrumentation, control panels and power distribution.
• Instrumentation selection, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
