Investment Specialist (NPSA10) – Accra

About the role

The Investment Specialist (NPSA10) will support UNCDF’s blended‑finance platform in Accra, helping to mobilise capital for Sustainable Development Goal‑aligned projects. The role focuses on providing technical and financial advisory services, designing bespoke financing structures and de‑risking investments to accelerate development impact in least‑developed countries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted technical and financial advisory to Member States and partners on investment projects.
• Design and structure blended‑finance solutions, including grants, loans and guarantees.
• Conduct financial de‑risking and investment‑readiness assessments for SDG‑aligned projects.
• Collaborate with private sector, UN agencies, development finance institutions and philanthropic partners to crowd‑in capital.
• Support the development of local financial systems and new markets to enhance sustainable economic growth.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in finance, economics, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in investment advisory, blended finance, or development finance.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multilateral partners and private‑sector investors.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to complex financing structures.
