IT Infrastructure Architect

About the role

The IT Infrastructure Architect will lead the design, planning and optimisation of cost‑effective on‑premise and cloud infrastructure for Telecel Ghana. You will ensure the infrastructure estate is scalable, secure, reliable and aligned with the long‑term strategy of the Telecel Group.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and design highly available network and infrastructure solutions covering compute, storage, virtualization, security controls and cloud services.
• Support the IT team by reviewing network and software designs, leading design discussions and recommending emerging technologies.
• Define, enforce and govern infrastructure architecture standards, ensuring compliance with security, regulatory and operational requirements.
• Set success targets, conduct risk analysis, identify and manage risks, and escalate issues as needed.
• Analyse capacity trends, recommend scaling strategies, optimise performance, plan availability, manage lifecycle and develop disaster‑recovery and high‑availability strategies.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent; MSc is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience designing IT network and infrastructure architectures in a telecom or comparable enterprise environment.
• Cisco certifications (CCNA or CCNP Enterprise) and relevant security, data & AI certifications.
• Professional certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and enterprise architecture (TOGAF) are mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large‑scale network and architecture design projects.
