Junior Software Engineer (National Service Personnel)

About the role

Orgmento, a software engineering and data sciences consultancy in Ghana, is hiring a Junior Software Engineer for a National Service Personnel position. This role requires a grounded understanding of computer coding and software development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications and systems
• Code, test, and debug software programs
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering

Required profile

• You are a very fast learner
• You have a positive, can‑do attitude to problem‑solving and learn from both success and failure
• You are relentless in understanding and fixing code issues
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a computing‑related field such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Engineering or Information Systems/Technology
• You enjoy the technical challenge of writing, debugging and testing code
• Your CV shows personal coding projects, hackathons, GitHub collaborations or group projects
• You are committed to a career in software engineering or computing

Required skills

• Demonstrable exposure to software development and programming
• Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, C++, C#, or Java
• Familiarity with development tools like Git, GitHub, JIRA, Eclipse, Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team
