About the role
The Key Account Manager (KAM) for Home is a strategic commercial role dedicated to driving growth, revenue, and market share of Jumia's hardware and technology portfolio, including laptops, desktops, and accessories. Acting as the primary commercial link, the role manages high‑value relationships with top global brands, distributors, and vendors.
Key responsibilities
- Manage key accounts, top brands, and distributors within the Home category to build strong, long‑lasting commercial partnerships.
- Develop and implement category‑specific commercial strategies to scale sales volume, maximize revenue, and grow market share.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and execute high‑impact promotional campaigns such as Tech Week and Black Friday.
- Analyze sales data, stock turn, and tech market trends to identify growth opportunities and competitive pricing strategies.
- Monitor and report on core category metrics, including GMV, inventory levels, and vendor fulfillment performance.
- Lead commercial negotiations to secure exclusive product launches, best‑in‑market pricing, and optimal margin contributions.
- Provide proactive business support to key partners, resolving operational bottlenecks and tracking growth on the platform.
- Stay updated on global and local home trends, upcoming product releases, competitor positioning, and shifting consumer preferences.
- Work closely with operations, logistics, and content teams to ensure seamless inbound scheduling, stock availability, and high‑quality product listings.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of proven commercial or account management experience, preferably in e‑commerce, home retail, or consumer appliances.
- Strong understanding of the home category, including hardware specifications, brand positioning, and market dynamics.
- Excellent commercial acumen with strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel and data tools.
- Strategic mindset with a results‑driven approach to consistently drive category GMV and growth.
- Proactive, self‑motivated attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
