Locum Physician Assistant – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Volta River Authority is seeking qualified Ghanaian Physician Assistants to work on a locum basis across its hospitals in Akosombo, Accra and Aboadze. You will deliver general medical services, support shift operations and ensure accurate insurance documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general medical care to patients in the three VRA hospitals.
• Perform normal, standby and shift duties as required.
• Complete insurance claim forms accurately and timely.
• Assist the Hospital Superintendent with any additional duties.

Required profile

• Certificate in Physician Assistantship.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Completion of internship or national service.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, motivate staff and participate in decision‑making.

Required skills

• Physician Assistant certification.
• Industrial safety knowledge.
• Computer literacy.
• Patient counselling and education.
