Logistics Manager

About the role

The Logistics Manager will lead all logistics, freight, import/export and customs clearance activities for SPIRO in Ghana. The role ensures timely, compliant and cost‑effective movement of materials and finished products while coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the logistics and customs clearance plan in line with procurement and supply‑chain objectives.
• Coordinate with customs house agents and freight forwarders to meet transportation and clearance timelines.
• Prepare, maintain and archive all import, export and domestic logistics documentation, including duties, taxes and charges.
• Manage transport vendors, freight forwarders and customs agents, ensuring insurance coverage and SLA compliance.
• Negotiate freight rates, evaluate vendors and monitor performance against KPIs.
• Generate periodic logistics performance reports and lead review meetings with partners.
• Proactively avoid demurrage, penalties and cost leakages through timely documentation and payment processing.
• Drive continuous improvement in customs lead times, process automation and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 5 years) in logistics, freight forwarding or customs clearance.
• Strong knowledge of Ghana Revenue Authority customs regulations, Ghanaian import/export laws and ECOWAS trade requirements.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate rates.
• Excellent documentation governance and reporting skills.
