Mechanic – Crushers (Mining Plant)

About the role

The Mechanic – Crushers will perform preventive maintenance on assigned mechanical systems at the Iduapriem Gold Mine, ensuring efficient plant operation and minimizing breakdowns and downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Complete maintenance tasks safely, ensuring work permits and lock‑out procedures are in place before work starts.
• Carry out allocated maintenance within required time frames to support plant availability and production targets.
• Install, repair, clean and lubricate mechanical components to maintain reliable operation of the crusher plant.
• Inspect equipment and support preventive maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
• Report spare‑parts shortages to the Foreman in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Mechanical Technician Part I & II, HND Mechanical Engineering, Motor Vehicle Technician Part I & II, or NVTI Apprenticeship.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive a light vehicle.
• Minimum 1–3 years experience in a process plant, medically fit for the work environment.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of crusher plant operations.
• Strong technical understanding of preventive maintenance.
• Installation, repair, cleaning and lubrication of mechanical components.
