Mechanical Technician – Auxiliary Equipment

About the role

Newmont is seeking an entry‑level Mechanical Technician to maintain and repair auxiliary mining equipment at its Kumasi site. You will ensure equipment availability and support safe, efficient production by following OEM specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical maintenance, deployment, troubleshooting, replacement, repair and testing of auxiliary equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance routines and inspections on drills, shovels and support equipment.
• Generate work orders and raise job cards for any identified problems.
• Plan and coordinate your own work schedule while liaising with support services.
• Execute installations, repairs and disassembly/assembly of major components according to OEM guidelines.
• Address items on the maintenance planning schedule and respond to breakdowns promptly.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with at least one month of relevant experience.
• Willingness to work onsite in Kumasi and adhere to safety standards.
• Ability to read and apply OEM specifications.
• Good coordination skills to work with support services and follow maintenance plans.
