Mining Engineer – Projects (Obuasi Gold Mine)

About the role

The Mining Engineer will support the Projects department at the Obuasi Gold Mine by implementing mining designs, development strategies and production processes in a safe manner. The role ensures project execution aligns with operational needs and contributes to cost‑effective project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Implement mining designs, development strategies and production processes for the Obuasi Gold Mine projects.
• Coordinate project execution within assigned underground blocks and ensure effective communication between engineering and operational teams.
• Prepare technical analyses, engineering assessments and documentation for pre‑feasibility, feasibility and construction phases.
• Plan and monitor daily, weekly and monthly mining activities, providing progress updates and managing drill designs, charge plans and related infrastructure documentation.

Required profile

• BSc or Diploma in Mining Engineering (or equivalent) with a valid Ghanaian manual driver’s licence.
• 2–3 years of operational experience in an underground mining environment, including mine planning and exposure to feasibility studies.
• Demonstrated safety leadership and ability to work underground as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Deswik CAD for mine design.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and the MS Office suite.
