Monitoring & Evaluation Consultant (Level 2)

About the role

The United Nations World Food Programme is seeking a senior Monitoring & Evaluation Consultant (Level 2) to support evidence‑based programme management in Ghana. The consultant will work on‑site in Accra for an 11‑month renewable assignment, helping ensure that food assistance reaches the right people at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee monitoring systems that track programme outputs, outcomes and impact.
• Collect, validate and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from field operations.
• Identify implementation challenges early, facilitate escalation and support adaptive management decisions.
• Coordinate with Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) teams to integrate monitoring data into broader food‑security evidence bases.
• Prepare regular performance reports for donors, partners and senior WFP management.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in monitoring, evaluation or related data‑analysis roles.
• Demonstrated experience in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably with UN agencies.
• Strong understanding of results‑based management, performance monitoring and accountability frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
