Moulding Operator – Tempering & Cooling Specialist

About the role

The Moulding Operator is responsible for tempering, moulding, and cooling of tempered liquor or butter, ensuring that products meet quality, safety, and production standards while achieving planned output volumes. The role is based in Tema and reports to the Shift Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the tempering machine to achieve required chocolate liquor quality.
• Accurately fill tempered liquor into moulds to meet weight and quality specifications.
• Operate and monitor the cooling tunnel to ensure proper solidification of moulded products.
• Maintain target production volumes while minimizing losses and waste.
• Monitor process parameters and adjust equipment to optimise performance.
• Report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, and production deviations promptly.
• Perform routine cleaning, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance of equipment and mould boxes.
• Label all produced products and complete production records, checklists, and required documentation.

Required profile

• NVTI Grade I or II Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• At least one (1) year post‑qualification hands‑on experience in a manufacturing, processing or production environment.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery operation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Good understanding of GMP, hygiene standards, HACCP and food safety requirements.
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude with ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment faults.
• Ability to operate electrical manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Forklift operation ability (certification is an advantage).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
