Paramedic / Emergency Medical Technician

About the role

Halcome Management Services seeks a dynamic, customer‑focused Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician to join the new Bank Hospital in Accra. You will respond to emergency calls, provide on‑site medical care, and safely transport patients to medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the emergency response team.
• Assess injury severity, initiate appropriate medical procedures, and provide emergency treatment including medication, pain relief, IV infusions, and wound dressing.
• Administer life support, first‑aid, and advanced pre‑hospital care (ALS).
• Operate technical equipment such as bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms.
• Drive the ambulance, monitor patient condition en route, and communicate with dispatchers and physicians.
• Maintain, clean, and decontaminate the ambulance and medical equipment.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in paramedical science, associate degree, or equivalent medical training.
• At least one year of paramedic experience.
• Valid EMT‑P certification/EMS license and CPR certification.
• Emergency response training (first‑aid, trauma, ALS).
• Clean driving record complying with safety policies.
• Strong knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and medications.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High level of fitness, stamina, eyesight, and physical agility.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Operating bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators.
• Using external defibrillators and performing electrocardiograms.
• Administering intravenous infusions and medications (injection, oral).
• Providing life support and advanced pre‑hospital emergency care.
• Ambulance driving and navigation.
• Radio communication with dispatch and medical teams.
• Medical equipment maintenance and decontamination.
