Paramedic / Emergency Medical Technician

About the role

Halcome Management Services is seeking a dynamic, customer‑focused Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician to join the new Bank Hospital in Accra. The role involves responding to emergency calls, providing on‑site medical care, and safely transporting patients to medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the emergency response team during incidents.
• Assess injury severity, initiate appropriate medical procedures, and administer medication, pain relief, and IV infusions.
• Provide advanced pre‑hospital care, including life‑support, wound dressing, and use of defibrillators.
• Operate technical equipment such as bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and electrocardiogram monitors.
• Drive the ambulance to the scene and en route to the hospital while monitoring patient condition.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain medical equipment and vehicle cleanliness.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in paramedical science, associate degree, or equivalent medical training.
• At least one year of paramedic experience.
• Valid EMT‑P certification/EMS license and CPR certification.
• Clean driving record complying with AMR safety and driving policy.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and national holidays.

Required skills

• Operation of bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators.
• Use of external defibrillators for advanced life support.
• Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring and interpretation.
• Intravenous (IV) infusion administration.
• Proficient handling of emergency medical equipment and medication.
