Part-time Lecturer – Information Technology

About the role

BlueCrest University College is seeking a part-time Lecturer in the Information Technology Department to deliver high-quality teaching, support curriculum development and contribute to research activities. The role focuses on academic excellence, student success and collaboration with academic staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
• Develop curriculum and course materials that meet academic standards and can be used across multiple platforms.
• Utilise current technologies and collaborate with fellow lecturers to enhance teaching and learning methods.
• Prepare, evaluate and grade assignments and examinations in line with institutional assessment policies, providing constructive feedback.
• Conduct research, write papers, proposals and journal articles as required.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, seminars and training events both within and outside the institution.
• Supervise undergraduate research projects and mentor students.
• Apply for and manage grant funding when secured.

Required profile

• PhD in Information Technology or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
• Strong research background with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Minimum four years of university-level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and engage students.
• Interest in contributing to the diversity and excellence of the institution.
