Physics Teacher

About the role

The African Science Academy is seeking a dedicated Physics Teacher to join its faculty in Accra & Tema. You will deliver high‑quality instruction, foster scientific inquiry, and support students preparing for Cambridge International Examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver physics lessons in line with the school’s vision and curriculum.
• Organise and supervise physics practical sessions, ensuring safety and learning outcomes.
• Assess student performance, set and mark internal examinations, and analyse results to inform teaching.
• Maintain classroom resources, laboratory equipment, and report any defects promptly.
• Write academic references for college applications and produce detailed student reports.
• Participate in staff meetings, duty rota, and school community events.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years (36 months) of teaching experience in physics at secondary level.
• Familiarity with Cambridge International Examinations assessment procedures.
• Ability to manage diverse student groups and promote high standards of behaviour and attendance.
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.

Required skills

• Physics laboratory practical setup and supervision.
• Cambridge International Examinations assessment.
