Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will lead procurement and logistics activities for the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) programme in Ghana. Reporting to FHI 360, the role ensures compliance with organisational and donor policies while supporting programme delivery across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain FHI 360 Ghana procurement policies and procedures.
• Manage procurement of office supplies, equipment, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and related services for both headquarters and field offices.
• Coordinate with finance, administration and program teams to ensure timely vendor payments and auditable documentation.
• Develop and standardise procurement requisition, commodity dispatch and asset‑inventory protocols.
• Maintain asset and inventory registers, oversee equipment allocation, maintenance and disposal in line with donor regulations.
• Ensure compliance with USG export rules and destination‑country import and customs regulations.
• Identify process bottlenecks, propose solutions and support continuous improvement of logistics operations.
• Prepare financial reports, reconcile inventories and support budgeting for logistics activities.
• Assist in preparedness planning, develop instructional material and provide training and mentorship to staff.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in procurement, logistics or supply‑chain management, preferably in the health or development sector.
• Familiarity with donor‑funded procurement rules, USG export compliance and local customs regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
