Production Technician

About the role

The Production Technician is responsible for operating assigned machinery, ensuring it runs smoothly and is well‑maintained to avoid production disruptions. The role supports both production and maintenance teams to keep the line operating at optimum efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machinery according to Standard Operating Procedures and record hourly production data on log sheets.
• Perform visual inspections of raw materials and finished products, and ensure cleanliness of the machine and work area.
• Monitor flow‑meter readings before and after production or during changeovers.
• Execute preventive and planned maintenance tasks, documenting all activities on downtime sheets.
• Maintain accurate hourly performance boards and ensure smooth flow of raw materials and finished goods upstream and downstream.
• Carry out quality checks on inspection equipment and products to guarantee safe output.

Required profile

• HND or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience post‑national service, preferably in FMCG manufacturing.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team and adapt to change.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 2200).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to perform visual inspections and basic quality checks.
