Professor in Computing & Information Systems

About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) is seeking a highly qualified academic to join its Faculty of Computing and Information Systems as a Professor. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and community service within one of the department’s areas such as Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise student projects.
• Lead and participate in research activities, publish in recognized journals, and attract research funding.
• Provide academic leadership and mentorship to junior faculty and staff.
• Engage in community outreach, consultancy and professional service activities.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental governance.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant computing or information systems discipline.
• Current appointment as Professor at a recognized university, or at least three years as Associate Professor with a minimum of fifteen peer‑reviewed publications.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly excellence and teaching effectiveness.
• Three professional referees with contact details.
