Programme Specialist – Health Sector

About the role

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Ghana seeks a Programme Specialist to lead health sector initiatives, supporting strategic planning, project coordination and partnership development.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze sector challenges and trends, proposing solutions aligned with JICA and Ghana policies.
• Monitor government policies, donor activities and development partner coordination influencing JICA operations.
• Provide technical inputs to programme development and advise management on strategic direction.
• Formulate, plan, monitor and evaluate health projects, ensuring alignment with related initiatives.
• Coordinate with government counterparts, development partners, private sector and other stakeholders to maximise project impact.
• Manage logistical and administrative arrangements for smooth project implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Commerce, Economics, Sociology or related social sciences.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and professional business manner.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in teams and build relationships with external partners.
• Excellent PC proficiency, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for documentation and presentations.
• Minimum five years of experience in enterprise development, investment promotion, industrial development, trade, public‑private partnership or related fields.
