Project Supervisor – Education for Empowerment (Salaga, Ghana)

About the role

IBIS, a Danish international NGO, is seeking a dynamic and results‑oriented Project Supervisor to support the Education for Empowerment (EfE) Programme. The role focuses on implementing the three‑year Danida‑funded Christmas Calendar Project, which aims to provide quality basic education to out‑of‑school children in hard‑to‑reach communities of the East Gonja District.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and conduct community animation activities for the Christmas Calendar Project.
• Facilitate training sessions for community teachers working in Wing Schools.
• Monitor, supervise and motivate community teachers to ensure effective teaching.
• Promote accountability and good governance with partners and local communities.
• Ensure value for money in transactions, recommend cost‑effective proposals and budgets, and provide timely feedback on school and community issues.

Required profile

• At least a Diploma in Education, Integrated Community Development or a related field.
• Professional teaching qualification.
• Minimum two years of field experience with rural communities, NGOs, and education projects.
• Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience in facilitation, supervision, and coordinating project activities.
• Knowledge of gender analysis.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Gonja and other local languages (Nawuri, Likpakpaln).
• Initiative, pro‑activity, and familiarity with local customs and traditions of Northern Ghana.
• Ability to ride a motor cycle.
