Public Relations Officer (Volunteer, Remote)

About the role

The Public Relations Officer (Volunteer) will support Teqxa’s brand visibility and reputation through consistent, strategic communication. This remote role involves drafting and distributing press releases, maintaining relationships with media outlets, and coordinating responses to media inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and distribute press releases and thought‑leadership content.
• Maintain and grow relationships with journalists and media outlets.
• Coordinate and respond to media inquiries on behalf of the company.
• Monitor media coverage and track brand mentions.
• Prepare key messages, talking points, and internal communication materials.
• Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to ensure consistent public messaging.

Required profile

• Strong public‑relations and media‑relations skills with the ability to build professional journalist relationships.
• Experience drafting press releases and strategic communications aligned with business goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including professional email etiquette and virtual presentation abilities.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage PR activities remotely while meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with technology or IT‑services environments and digital collaboration tools is a plus.
• Currently studying or holding a degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
• Previous experience in PR, communications, or marketing (including internships or volunteer roles) is advantageous.
