Radiographer (On Call) – Accra

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an on‑call Radiographer to support its Health Assessment Programme for refugees and migrants in Accra and the Tema region. Working under the Chief Migration Health Officer and guided by the IOM Teleradiology Center, the successful candidate will provide high‑quality chest X‑ray services in line with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire accurate chest X‑ray images for migrants as directed by physicians or radiologists.
• Perform additional chest views when required, following standard procedures.
• Explain examination procedures to applicants and answer their questions.
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment, verify applicant identification, and ensure correct biodata entry and labeling.
• Apply radiographic techniques and radiation‑protection measures, including pelvic and double wrap‑around lead shielding for pregnant women.
• Position applicants, collimate the X‑ray beam, and select appropriate exposure factors.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification with at least one month of relevant experience.
• Ability to work on an on‑call basis and handle a fast‑paced screening environment.
• Familiarity with IOM and international radiographic standards.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
