Radiographer (On Call) – Accra/Tema

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks an On‑Call Radiographer to support its Health Assessment Programme for refugees and migrants in Accra and the Tema region. Working under the Chief Migration Health Officer and guided by the IOM Teleradiology Center, you will capture high‑quality chest X‑ray images that meet international radiographic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire chest X‑ray images for migrants as directed by physicians or radiologists, following IOM and destination‑country technical guidelines.
• Perform additional chest views when required, using standard procedures.
• Explain examination procedures to applicants and address their questions.
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment, verify applicant IDs, enter biodata into CR/DR systems, and label images correctly.
• Apply radiographic techniques and radiation‑protection measures, including lead shielding for all patients and double wrap‑around shielding for pregnant women.
• Ensure proper positioning, collimation, and selection of exposure factors for each image.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification in radiography or a related health field.
• At least one month of relevant experience or willingness to train on‑the‑job.
• Ability to work on‑call and handle a fast‑paced screening environment.
• Good communication skills to interact with diverse migrant populations.
