Reconciliation Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a senior Reconciliation Accountant to join our finance team in Accra. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and maintaining the integrity of our bank and vendor accounts. Key responsibilities

• Review financial statements and transactions for accuracy.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify account balances.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of reconciliation processes.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline reconciliation procedures.
• Assist in preparing reports related to reconciled accounts.
• Communicate with vendors and clients regarding outstanding payments.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Monitor and track aged items in accounts.
• Participate in audits and respond to auditor inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in accounting practices.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data effectively.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
