Registrar – Chief Operating Officer for University

About the role

The University is seeking a Registrar to act as the Chief Operating Officer under the Vice‑Chancellor, overseeing the day‑to‑day administration of the institution and ensuring smooth operation of all academic and non‑academic services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the university’s daily administrative functions and coordinate across departments.
• Serve as Secretary to the University Council, Boards and statutory committees.
• Provide strategic advice and briefings to the Vice‑Chancellor.
• Lead and supervise a range of administrative activities, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Represent the university in internal and external public engagements.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in Administration, Management or a related field.
• At least six (6) years of experience as Deputy Registrar or in an equivalent senior administrative role within a university or similar institution.
• Deep understanding of the higher‑education landscape in Ghana.
• Demonstrated public morality, integrity and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Experience dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) for administrative purposes.
