Registrar – Chief Operating Officer

About the role

The Registrar serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Koforidua Technical University, overseeing the day‑to‑day administration and acting as the Secretary to the University Council and all statutory committees. Reporting directly to the Vice‑Chancellor, the role provides strategic advice and leads a range of administrative functions across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily university operations and ensure efficient delivery of administrative services.
• Act as Secretary to the Council, Boards and statutory committees, preparing minutes and coordinating meetings.
• Provide strategic briefings and advice to the Vice‑Chancellor on institutional matters.
• Lead and supervise administrative departments, fostering effective governance and compliance.
• Represent the university to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining high standards of integrity and public accountability.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in Administration, Management or a related field.
• At least six (6) years of experience as a Deputy Registrar or in a comparable senior administrative role within a university or similar organization.
• Strong understanding of the higher‑education landscape in Ghana.
• Demonstrated public morality, integrity and ability to handle a wide range of stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent managerial, communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) systems used in university administration.
