Safety Officer – Hardware Factory

About the role

The Safety Officer will be responsible for overseeing all health and safety activities within a hardware manufacturing environment. This role ensures a safe working environment by monitoring compliance, conducting inspections, and supporting emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor workplace safety activities across the factory.
• Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Ensure employee compliance with safety rules, procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Monitor safe operation of machinery, equipment, electrical systems, and other factory processes.
• Support fire prevention, emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, and accident response.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed safety reports.
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for staff.
• Maintain comprehensive safety records, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and HR teams to resolve safety issues.
• Ensure the factory meets company safety standards and applicable occupational health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or factory setting.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety, hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident prevention.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, employee training, and incident investigations.
• Ability to enforce safety rules and promote a strong safety culture.
• Good communication, observation, problem‑solving, and reporting skills.
• Relevant certification, diploma, or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field is an advantage.
