School Librarian

About the role

The School Librarian will manage the daily operations of the library at Glorious Child School Limited in Pokuase, supporting both learners and staff. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on organizing print and digital resources, fostering a love of reading, and enhancing research skills across all age groups.

Key responsibilities

• Catalog, organize, and maintain library collections in both physical and digital formats.
• Provide guidance on information retrieval and deliver library instruction sessions.
• Develop age‑appropriate programs that promote reading and research.
• Enforce library policies and ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
• Track usage statistics, manage inventory, and support school‑wide reading initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or degree in Library Science, Information Studies, Education, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a school or academic library is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with learners, staff, and families.
• Commitment to child safeguarding, inclusivity, and diverse learning needs.
