Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer – Accra

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join Tullow’s Ghana Business Unit in Accra. The role serves as the technical authority for all electrical systems, supporting offshore asset teams to maximise production while minimising cost and emissions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide E&I engineering support across design, construction, commissioning and operation phases of offshore projects.
• Act as technical authority ensuring compliance with electrical performance standards and assessing deviations.
• Conduct and manage power system studies including short‑circuit, motor starting, over‑voltage protection, arc‑flash and harmonics.
• Ensure proper design of electrical protections, Ex‑protection for FPSO, and compliance with specifications, data sheets and cable schedules.
• Interface with offshore operation teams to support change requests (MoCs) and troubleshoot day‑to‑day E&I issues.
• Identify and recommend plant optimisation and technology deployment opportunities to improve performance and reduce emissions.
• Assess equipment obsolescence, prepare remediation plans and ensure critical electrical PO’s meet company standards.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering within the oil & gas sector.
• Proven ability to act as technical authority and provide guidance to offshore asset teams.
• Strong understanding of offshore power systems and related safety standards.
