Senior Specialist – Mining Projects

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Mining Projects will support the safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of underground infrastructure and capital projects at Obuasi Mine. The role integrates project scopes, designs, schedules and construction with mine planning systems and provides technical oversight across assigned mining blocks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate mining construction drawings for infrastructure, installations and upgrades.
• Maintain at least 30% underground presence to validate designs and support execution teams.
• Coordinate planning, review and execution tracking of underground capital projects, integrating designs into Deswik systems.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and cost performance, and support preparation of capital project proposals.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in underground mining with exposure to infrastructure or project‑focused roles.
• Ability to work underground and travel between work areas, with a valid Ghanaian manual driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Deswik CAD (and Deswik Scheduler preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
