Senior University Registrar (Chief Operating Officer)

About the role

The Registrar serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Koforidua Technical University, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor. This senior leader oversees the day‑to‑day administration of the university, acts as Secretary to the Council and all statutory committees, and provides strategic advice to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all operational functions of the university, ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Serve as Secretary to the University Council, Boards and Statutory Committees, preparing minutes and follow‑up actions.
• Provide strategic briefings and advice to the Vice Chancellor on administrative matters.
• Lead and coordinate cross‑departmental administrative activities, including finance, human resources, and ICT services.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and university policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree preferably in Administration, Management or a related field.
• Minimum six (6) years experience as Deputy Registrar or in a comparable senior administrative role within a university or similar institution.
• Deep understanding of the higher‑education landscape in Ghana.
• Demonstrated integrity, public morality and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) as applied to university administration.
