SHE Officer – Ghana

About the role

The Weir Group is seeking a motivated SHE Officer to join its Ghana operations. Based onsite in Accra (with occasional work in Tema), you will support the implementation and maintenance of safety, health and environment standards across mining projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the site’s SHE Management System to meet ISO and Weir Group standards.
• Conduct site inspections, attend meetings and update client contractor management records.
• Oversee the SHIELD reporting system, monitor corrective actions and ensure timely closure.
• Facilitate risk assessments and develop action plans to mitigate identified risks.
• Promote a zero‑harm safety culture and demonstrate 100% commitment to safety behaviours.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma in Safety, Health and Environment or related field.
• Experience implementing and maintaining a SHE Management System.
• Knowledge of safety, health and environmental legislation and ISO requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification is a plus.
