Sous Chef – Luxury Hotel Kitchen

About the role

The Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in delivering high‑quality culinary experiences for guests at JW Marriott Accra. This full‑time, onsite position combines hands‑on cooking with leadership of the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, sanitation standards, and local regulations.
• Estimate production needs, coordinate purchasing, receiving, and storage, and maintain inventory controls.
• Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, create decorative food displays, and develop new menu items.
• Supervise, coach, and schedule cooks and kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.
• Address guest feedback, resolve complaints, and uphold exceptional customer service standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of culinary experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field with 2 years of experience.
• Proven ability to lead kitchen teams, manage budgets, and maintain food safety and sanitation compliance.
