Stores Officer – Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Stores Officer will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the store function for Marie Stopes International Ghana, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective handling of commodities, medical supplies and contraceptives across Accra, Tema and outreach sites.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store and disburse all commodities, drugs and non‑drugs, ensuring proper temperature control and documentation.
• Conduct routine stock counts, manage stock levels, and coordinate replenishment with project teams.
• Process receipts, issues, returns and adjustments in line with authorisation procedures.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies for disposal of expired or unserviceable items.
• Work with the Finance Officer to reconcile monthly stock balances using the SUN accounting system.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date fixed‑asset register for all sites and label assets appropriately.

Required profile

• Degree in Stores Management, Accounting or a related field; ACCA Part I or HND in Accountancy is an advantage.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in a similar stores or inventory role.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and with high accuracy.
• Legal right to work in Ghana for non‑Ghanaian applicants.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using SUN system (accounting/inventory software).
