Technical & Operational Support for Local Migration Governance (Consultancy)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a consultant to provide hands‑on technical, coordination and operational support to the Local Technical Committee (LTC) on migration management in the Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly (DCMA). The role aims to ensure the LTC functions effectively and contributes to improved migration management outcomes at the local level.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate regular LTC meetings, ensure systematic follow‑up on decisions and document processes and outcomes.
• Maintain strong linkages between the DCMA LTC and national‑level migration coordination structures.
• Provide analytical reporting on LTC activities, stakeholder engagement and action‑point implementation.
• Support capacity‑building and technical guidance for LTC members on labour migration governance, ethical recruitment and migrant protection.

Required profile

• University degree in Migration Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in migration governance, local governance or programme coordination.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder technical committees or working groups at sub‑national level.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian local government systems, decentralized structures and referral mechanisms.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Twi or other local languages is an asset.
