Vice Chancellor

About the role

The Vice Chancellor serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of Koforidua Technical University, leading the institution’s strategic direction and day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Chief Executive Officer, accountable to the Governing Council for academic, financial and administrative performance.
• Oversee the planning, delivery and quality assurance of all programmes and research activities.
• Ensure efficient resource management and compliance with university statutes and regulations.
• Foster partnerships with industry, government and international bodies to advance the university’s mission.
• Lead fundraising initiatives and secure resources for research and development.
• Represent the university publicly and uphold its values of innovation, integrity and impact.

Required profile

• Hold a professorial rank with a terminal research postgraduate degree.
• Be an internationally recognised academic or distinguished scholar.
• Demonstrated senior leadership and extensive administrative experience in higher education.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and crisis‑management abilities.
• Visionary, business‑oriented mindset with a proven track record of industry engagement.
• Ability to raise funds and manage large‑scale projects.
• Must be able to serve a full four‑year term before reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
