Volunteer & Internship – Child Education & Learning Support

About the role

Challenging Heights Ghana is seeking motivated volunteers and interns to support children and young people in its recovery and reintegration programmes. The focus is on delivering educational activities, literacy and numeracy support, tutoring and creative learning interventions that are age‑appropriate and trauma‑informed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group tutoring in literacy, numeracy and basic subjects.
• Design and facilitate creative learning activities such as arts, games and storytelling.
• Assist with monitoring and documenting participants’ progress and learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with programme staff to ensure educational interventions align with recovery goals.
• Support the preparation of learning materials and resources.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in child protection, education and community development.
• Ability to work respectfully with vulnerable children and young people.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn from local teams.
• Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, nonprofit environment.
